Warburton’s main street will become a linear art gallery when portraits created for the 2017 Face2Face Street Exhibition go on show later this year.
The project hosted by the Warburton/Yarra Junction Bendigo Community Bank Branches invites people of all ages to paint, draw or collage a favourite local person … someone they would like to come face to face with, or perhaps already do on a regular basis.
“Is there someone who you think should be celebrated on canvas … it could be your mum, bus driver or best friend, well then, get painting,” urged project co-ordinator and Community Bank development worker, Suyin Chan.
The opportunity to create a unique artwork for the exhibition is open to people of all ages and abilities and is in every way kid friendly.
Fill out an entry form at the Waterwheel Centre in Warburton, pay the $5 entry fee and receive, literally, a blank canvas on which to create your Face2Face work of art.
Canvases must be returned by 20 October for installation in the shop windows the following week.
