MEMBERS of the Healesville Pony Club celebrated the end of the year last month with a pet show, in place of their annual rally, that they were forced to cancel due to the Equine Influenza restrictions.
Healesville Pony Club president Mark Melville said that the day was a huge success, with the children really getting into the Christmas mood for the day.
“We haven’t been able to hold mounted rallies since August with the Equine Influenza lockdown, so it was great to do something for the kids to thank them for their patience,” Mr Melville said.
“It must be hard for them to see the racing go ahead but still have restrictions on their competitions, but they have been great and understand the importance of the laws.”
Mr Melville said that he and all members were looking forward to starting mounted rallies in January.
