HEALESVILLE athlete Dru Troon was selected as a flag bearer for the opening ceremony last Saturday of the 12th Annual Masters Games in Geelong.
Mrs Troon teaches at the Healesville, Yarra Junction and Ringwood gymnastics clubs and it’s the 62-year-old’s first Masters Games.
Training regularly for the Masters Games and other competitions Mrs Troon says she aims to be a gymnast for as long as she can.
“I’m aiming to keep going. I’d like to see what I can still do and how long I can do it for,” Mrs Troon said.
“It’d be so good to still be competing at 70. I see 100-year-old competitors in the running races and I find them very inspiring.”
Competitions started on Sunday 22 and the Masters Games will be running until Sunday 1 March.
