YARRA Junction Junior Football Club is coming of age.
The club turns 21 this year and, naturally, they are hoping it will be a good one.
“We are proud to celebrate 21 years of junior football at Yarra Junction,” said club president Laurie Reed.
“We have been very lucky to have had some of the nicest children you could ever meet, and their families, at the club over this time,” he said as this year’s crop of junior Eagles commenced training for the 2009 season.
The season is just four weeks away and Mr Reed said any player over eight years of age, girl or boy, is welcome at what he said was a family-orientated junior club.
“We have age groups to suit all children and everyone in the family is welcome at the club.
“Kids can make new friends in a safe environment, learn how to play Aussie Rules and have a great time.
“It doesn’t matter if kids are beginners or champions, the club wants them to join up.”
Anyone interested in joining can go along, with a parent, to a training session, 5pm Wednesday nights at the Yarra Junction Oval, or phone the club secretary Dannii Barlow on 5967 2562 or 0438 596 100.
