A diamond couple

Irene and Ron Morris.

Irene and Ron Morris celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on 6 December.

The Wandin North couple celebrated the diamond milestone with friends and family at the Crown Hotel in Lilydale.

Ron and Irene arrived in Australia in 1966 with their children Michelle, 4 and Clive, 3, and settled in Seville after a year.

They’ve called Wandin North home for the past 30 years.

Ron did various jobs including concreting and building caravans before returning to his trade of landscape gardening and starting Supreme Landscapes in 1968.

Clive worked alongside him for 22 years and took over the business when Ron retired at age 69.

Clive relocated to Inverloch with his family and the business is still going strong after 50 years.

Ron and Irene’s youngest daughter, Debra, was born in Seville and now lives on Phillip Island with her family.

Michelle moved to Cairns 20 years ago and Ron and Irene spend the Melbourne winters with her.

Irene worked for Adams Farms in Coldstream, berry farms in Seville and Rochford Winery.
