Spring firewood

The spring firewood collection season opened on 1 September.

People collecting firewood must do so only from designated collection areas in State forests or parks where collection is allowed, and must stay within collection limits.

Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and Parks Victoria staff will be patrolling parks, forests and reserves to make sure people are doing the right thing while collecting firewood.

Some firewood collection areas might be part of a planned burning program and could be closed at short notice.
