Yarra Glen graffiti

Yarra glen police are investigating two separate incidents of group graffiti.

The first occurred on 6 November and the second on 15 November.

A number of youths have been spoken to in relation to the matter with one being formally interviewed. Two other youths are also set to be interviewed.

Sergeant Richard Coulson at Yarra Glen Police said information from locals assisted in the identification of the youths.

He said police also utilised CCTV camera footage, and social media websites, which helped to identify the youths involved.

Wild Weather

Hot and windy conditions lashed the Yarra Valley on Thursday 21 November as emergency services responded to multiple incidents.

Residents in Gladysdale, Woori Yallock, Coldstream, Yarra Glen and other communities were left without power throughout the day.

Healesville SES received 15 requests for assistance, which included building damage, trees across roads, trees falling on houses other storm related incidents.

Motorists face delays on the Maroondah Highway in Coldstream as several trees fell, one hitting a power line roadside.

Healesville SES member Lucy Aston said that it was a busy day for emergency services who responded to a high amount of incidents throughout the duration of the stormy conditions.

Drunk driving

A 30 year old female from Healesville will be summonsed to appear at court after rolling her vehicle on Donnelly’s Weir Rd, Healesville shortly after 1.00am on Sunday 17 November 2019.

The female was conveyed back to the Lilydale Police Station where a breath test was conducted with an alleged result of .129.

Her licence was immediately suspended and she will appear at court on a later date.

Fatal collision

Police and emergency services responded to a fatal collision in Wandin North on the morning on Wednesday 20 November.

Investigators have been told a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive collided on Clegg Road near Union Road about 9.40am.

The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The driver of the four-wheel drive, a 26-year-old Croydon woman, was uninjured.

The investigation into the exact cause of the collision remains ongoing.

Road rescue

Emergency services responded to an incident involving three vehicles on the Maroondah Highway on Saturday 23 November about 2.20pm.

Healesville SES members performed a road crash rescue operation and used hydraulic tools to remove a car door in order to free one person who was trapped at the scene.

Ambulance crews treated two people, a man in his 50s who was taken to Box Hill Hospital with minor injuries, and a woman in her 20s who was taken to Box Hill Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.
