Hicci has welcomed a generous donation of Easter eggs from regular supporter, James, who often provides goods to the organisation.

Executive Officer Alison Gomers said HICCI’s grateful for James’ supported, which is felt across the holidays and throughout the year.

“James has been a very regular donor for HiICCI over the years. He has also gone to the hassle of ordering menus for local families,” Ms Gomers said.

“He’s done things like movie tickets, bowling, anything – he’s very generous.”

Ms Gomers said HICCI appreciates the many items that are donated to help local residents.

“Fresh produce and things like that are brought in throughout the year are all equally appreciated.”

Ms Gomers encourages any locals who are in need of some extra support to get in contact with Hicci and expects more people are in need of a helping hand due to financial challenges from the pandemic.

“The storm, the pandemic, working hours restricted and now the price of petrol – it’s just layer upon layer that’s starting to take its toll.

“We know it’s getting harder and harder and we do have resources to support people in Healesville, Yarra Glen and surrounding areas.

“We just want people to know they are very welcome and they are encouraged to ring and have a chat with the team.”

Resources can be provided for material aid, assistance with fuel and food vouchers, supply of staples and fresh groceries and limited bill assistance.

Residents don’t have to be on a concession but must live in the Healesville, Yarra Glen and surrounds to qualify for assistance.

Dinner for Darron’s weekly dinners are also open to more people, which are held Tuesday nights, served at 5.30pm.
