Hop in to Healesville Sanctuary

Hop Fest returns to Healesville Sanctuary next month with the Yarra Valley’s best craft beer brewers and small batch cider makers sharing their expertise and produce in an exclusive event space.

Run across the weekend of 2-3 November, Hop Fest is a celebration of the Yarra Valley’s rich brewing history, and allows visitors to meet the makers and sample their brews while also enjoying everything the Sanctuary has to offer.

Complementing the diverse and fun range of beer and cider on offer, Sanctuary Harvest has been busy putting together a menu full of gourmet-style street food.

Think abundant burgers, thick sticky ribs and a swag of Asian delights.

And, as a special treat this year, Watts River Brewing will be creating three new beers especially for the event, taking inspiration from some of Healesville Sanctuary’s residents – the blue-tongue Lizard, helmeted honeyeater, smokey mouse and, of course, the brush-tail rock-wallaby.

As well as a great day out, Hop Fest is for a good cause too, with event tickets contributing to the recovery of the brush-tailed rock wallaby.

Changes to habitat and the impact of feral cats, foxes and goats has led to the isolation of the few remaining populations of the brush-tailed rock-wallaby.

Zoos Victoria are working on a plan to create community awareness for this endangered species and investigating our role in supporting a captive population.

If that wasn’t enough to seal the deal on an amazing day out, a fantastic line-up of local musicians and a few fun games for the whole family will make this an event not to be missed.

Ticket includes entry to the Sanctuary, your Hop Fest tasting glass, access to the exclusive event spaces and all tastings.
