First XI Healesville 238 defeated Chirnside Park 92
With 238 on the board the goal was simple, take 10 wickets. It was a dream start with Mitch Tampaline taking the first wicket with the score on one. Chirnside would steady to be 1/57 before Tarkyn Nicolandos struck last ball before drinks, dismissing the Chirnside Coach for 38. He would then strike first ball after drinks. Then in his very next over he took another two wickets in two balls!! Completely lighting up the game having figure of 4/0 off eight balls at this time and completely decimating the Chirny top order. A bit of calm would occur before Josh Handasyde 3/6 and Nick Zinghini 2/8 would wrap the game up with Tarkyn finishing 4/8 off eight overs and Chirnside 92 all out. With Healesville winning by 146 runs to kickstart their season.
Second XI Healesville 254 defeated Eastfield 119
Eastfield CC batted this week and were all out for 119 runs from 47 overs. Excellent bowling display from S. Drummond with figures of 10 overs, seven maidens for nine runs and one wicket. This pressure enabled our other bowlers gain rewards. M.Wallace 4/30, R.Hudson 3/35. A big thank you to Eastfield CC for playing the game in good spirit. We look forward to playing against Lilydale CC away in a one day game.
Third XI Healesville 115 and 190 defeated by Warrandyte 1/169 dec and 2/30
Warrandyte claimed first innings points early in the day and sent the Bloods back in. Stoic resistance from Owen Morcombe, Tyler Braden and Curtis Adamson ensured a fighting chance until rain ended what was shaping up as a climactic finish.
Fourth XI Healesville 5/190 v St Andrews 2/61 – match abandoned due to rain
Healesville batted first with Danny Hyndman 50*, Cody Anderson 53*, Harry Thomas 23* making runs. Healesville was in the box seat with St Andrews still requiring 130 runs from 20 overs before rain put a stop to play.
Stage 1 Girls Healesville 97 defeated Norwood 94
Our first away game in Norwood, we bowled first and fielded well restricted Norwood to 94. Lucy Harding hit her first boundary in cricket on her way to 10* and ran well between wickets with Evie Matthews 6*. The sky was getting dark but Olivia English 8* hit a boundary to pass their score as thunder started and we left the field two overs short of completing our innings.
U12-3 – Healesville 217 defeated by Wandin 4/220
Despite the loss, it was a game of milestones for Healesville in their first two-day game. Healesville made an impressive 217 runs with top scores for Alby Gotch (19), Otis Rowland (16*) Reggie Morcombe (15*), Arlo Tuner (14), Felix McMahon (12) and Rory Jackson-Ward (12*). Wandin made the runs with Rory Jackson-Ward taking two wickets and Alby Gotch one. Great fielding by Josh Braden with a direct-hit run out.
U12-8 – Healesville 6/74 defeated by Chirnside Park 1/127
U14-3 Healesville 9/270 defeated Ainslie Park 156
With 120 runs to get this week Harry Thomas and Taylor Caldicott would get to work. Harry retired on 33 and Taylor bowled for 29. The game saw plenty of steady contributions with Ryder Hudson the standout with 56* but a comfortable win. Healesville finished up on 9/270d securing their place in the top two on the ladder as they move on to the next game.
U14-7 Healesville 9/102 defeated Lusatia Park 6/100
Healesville faced off against Lusatia Park for the second time this season in another closely contested match. After winning the toss, Lusatia Park was invited to bat by the hosts at Queens Park. Healesville’s team made an impressive start by taking early wickets and securing catches, limiting the visitors to a modest score of 100 runs for six wickets, with a standout bowling performance from Jackson Lehman, who concluded the innings with exceptional figures of four wickets for 16 runs. In the second innings, Healesville began somewhat shakily, losing two early wickets. However, through strong partnerships in the middle order, they managed to regain their composure and successfully chased down the runs in the final over. Noteworthy batting performances came from captain Gus Morcombe, who remained not out with 21 runs, and Ahren Wicker, who contributed 16 runs. It was a fantastic team effort to secure the victory against a very strong opponent. Well done, team!
U16-2 Healesville 4/288 defeated Warrandyte 229 Aeden Senti 100* and 3/20, Darcy English 100* and 3/40.
