MORE than 100 classic hot rod cars rolled into Healesville over the weekend as part of the inaugural Let’s Go Cruisin’ observation cruise and car display.
The cruise began in Mornington on Sunday morning and wound its way to Healesville’s RACV Country Club.
When the cars arrived in Healesville they parked in the grounds of the Country Club and their drivers and passengers enjoyed a hearty winter lunch at the club.
Healesville resident Barry O’Rourke took part in the event, displaying his 1946 Mercury Coupe.
Mr O’Rourke said it was great that Healesville was chosen as the final destination for the cruise and that so many unique cars were on display.
Let’s Go Cruisin’ committee member Rohan Hutson said the event was a huge success.
“We had a great turn out for our first ever run to Healesville and we’re now talking about making it an annual event,” he said.
“We had a lot of spectators turn up and the event generated a lot of interest in the Healesville area.”
