FILMMAKING workshops in Healesville and Upper Yarra will give young people an exciting opportunity to learn the creative and technical skills of the craft.
Local actor, David Kaczmarek, will be taking the eight-week series of workshops, which are an initiative of the Yarra Valley Youth Theatre Group, funded in part by the Warburton Community Bank.
Virginia Smith, spokesperson for the group, said it is the first time the workshops have been offered with some exciting outcomes anticipated.
“The films made during the workshops will be entered in the BRAVADO Youth Film Festival to be held at Reading Cinemas in Chirnside Park in November,” she said.
“The theme for BRAVADO this year is ‘water’ and that gives our aspiring film-makers a great opportunity to think more laterally and be really creative.”
Ms Smith said the workshops are being offered fee-free, making them very accessible to a lot of young people.
Eight workshops will be held in Healesville on Tuesday nights, and eight in Warburton on Wednesday nights.
