HODDLES Creek Fire Brigade has received a $3000 cash boost to help protect surrounding communities from bush fires this summer.
The brigade’s captain, Anthony Parker, was presented with a cheque by the organisers of the Upper Yarra Community Market earlier this month.
Pam Jagger, president of the market, said stall fees from the twice monthly market were regularly donated to Upper Yarra community groups and projects.
She said other recent donations had included cash injections for the Warburton After School Hours Care program and the Upper Yarra Community House Child Care Centre.
