YARRA Junction district residents now have until 16 December to return their Community Bank Project feasibility surveys.
Ray Seeger, feasibility study coordinator, secured an extension on the original 9 December deadline after problems with postal delivery of the survey to some areas.
Mr Seeger said 1800 surveys were delivered to the Warburton Post Office for mail-out on 17 November but some still had not been delivered early last week.
Lyn Welsh, who is in charge of postal administration at the post office, told the Mail the last of the letters was delivered on Thursday last week.
She said the problem arose from all the election mail which had to be delivered that same week.
“It’s unfortunate they were slow and the contractors should have delivered them quicker but with all the electoral mail they couldn’t carry it on the bike all in one go so they were struggling,” she said.
What everyone agrees on, is that the most important thing is that people now complete the survey and return it quickly.
“We are urging people if they have received the survey in the past week or two to act on it immediately and if they haven’t received one, to pick one up in Yarra Junction,” Mr Seeger said.
The forms are available at Flowers and Flavours McMaths Real Estate and Natural Way Health Foods. Phone Mr Seeger on 5967 1317 or Ms Jaqui Hall on 5966 6258 for further information.
