PROOF that recycling is good for the atmosphere will be on display in Healesville in the New Year.
The Grand Hotel will host tribute act Creedence Clearwater Recycled on Sunday, 14 January.
The band, an admiring, faithful and talented homage to country, blues and rock legends Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), has emerged as a major drawcard on the hotel scene after five years of top-notch entertainment.
The timeless classics of CCR still fill jukeboxes nationwide – hits such as Green River, Proud Mary, Born on the Bayou, Who’ll Stop the Rain, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen the Rain and The Midnight Special.
But thanks to the efforts of Recycled, a band totally dedicated to upholding the pureness and spirit of the music, Yarra Valley rockers can witness first-hand the magic of a band that beguiled audiences worldwide in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
The magic can be put down to a love of the original article and an appreciation of what made it so good.
From John Fogerty’s masterful song writing and powerful, raw-edged voice to the relentless driving rhythm of Tom Fogerty’s guitar, from Stu Cook’s beautiful bass lines to Doug Clifford’s drumming – in equal parts compassionate, intense and ferocious – the ingredients and flavour of CCR are relished by the members of Recycled.
And the band is dishing up its musical feast to full houses all over Victoria week in, week out.
Anyone who wants a taste of the timeless with the immediate buzz of top quality live music can tuck in at The Grand from 4.30pm on Sunday, 14 January. Tickets are $25 per person and can be booked on 5962 4003.
