BONE density testing incorporating bone health information and education to help women and men assess their risk of fracture and prevent osteoporosis will be available at Healesville Pharmacy on Wednesday, 31 January.
Medical adviser to the Australian Bone Density Testing Centre Dr Max Holsman said ultrasound bone density testing is a reliable and effective method to assist in assessing the risk of bone fracture.
The Australian Bone Density Testing Centre provides regular bone testing nationally and no referral is required.
The Centre’s operators perform the test, analyse the result, alert the client to potential problems and provide easy to understand information on bone health.
Each person tested receives a written result and booklet with information on osteoporosis risk factors, nutrition, exercise, menopause and medications that cause bone loss.
There are also easy-to-prepare high calcium recipes and a chart indicating calcium levels in common foods.
To book a bone density test at Healesville Pharmacy, 215 Maroondah Highway.
