MARYSVILLE’S three-day Wirreanda Festival kicks off on Friday, 23 February with a children’s festival, youth disco and the opening of the photographic competition.
Christine Adams, festival chairperson, said the festival was designed to provide a great weekend of family entertainment.
On the Saturday afternoon family events in Lions Park include drama, theatre sports and a family barbecue.
The children’s festival gets off to an early start on Sunday with activities on the run from 9am. Face painting, A Mad Hatter’s tea party, marimba workshops, circus activities and the popular duck race are just some of the activities on offer.
For the ‘olders’ there is a huge market, the popular Upper Goulburn Troutarama with local food, trout, produce and a few other ‘fishy’ activities. Marysville’s answer to the old gumboot throwing competition – the trout toss – is expected to be a ‘reel’ crowd pleaser!
The Wirreanda Festival is on 23, 24 and 25 February.
