Health on the horizon

BLUE Horizon Clinic is a centre where peoples’ need for competent professional care is paramount.
Three practitioners operate from the clinic and their aim is to provide accessible and affordable programs and services to acknowledge, unlock and maximise the potential of the whole person, and to advocate for, and guide people who wish to investigate the holistic and conventional health system.
The Listen and Learn Centre for Behavioural and Learning Difficulties provides assessments and remediation for learning and developmental difficulties.
This therapeutic approach uses sound, art and movement exercises to create new brain pathways that will enable the child or adult to discover their true potential.
Laila Toutounji is a learning and behaviour consultant whose innovative programs have grown out of many years of remedial work with children.
She believes that autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and auditory processing difficulty can be improved resulting in better concentration, settled behaviour and a new sense of self confidence.
The Blue Horizon clinic also incorporates a medical service.
Tony Balint is a doctor who integrates holistic and mainstream medicine and has training and experience in all facets of general practice, including emergency and trauma care, children’s health, men’s health, adolescent health and emotional and relationship problems.
Jaslin Kearney is a chiropractor specialising in gentle techniques, kinesiology and homeopathics and has a particular interest in keeping children healthy. She believes that a healthy nervous system leads to wellbeing in all aspects of one’s life. Blue Horizon also offers a range of other courses including Tai Chi for Health, a dance based healing class called Wu Tao, Thought Field Therapy for people suffering from panic and phobias as well as process work which finds wisdom in symptoms.
They also provide general services such as counselling and meditation.
Staff at the Blue Horizons Clinic work closely with their patients to assist and improve their learning with specific exercises.
Dr Jaslin will give a free talk at Blue Horizon Clinic on Thursday, 17 May at 7.30pm and will cover the topics of children’s health, spinal health during pregnancy and how to encourage a healthy nervous system for the whole family.
Bookings are essential.
Blue Horizon Clinic is at 2472 Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction.
