A HEALESVILLE driving instructor who sustained serious injuries in a car crash last week is in a stable condition in The Alfred hospital.
Fifty-eight-year-old Graham Boulton was instructing an 18-year-old learner driver when the car collided with a truck on Don Road near the intersection of Mt Riddell Road on Thursday, 5 July.
Senior Constable Chris Grasby of Healesville Police said the car was being driven by the learner driver at the time of the crash.
Mr Boulton was air-lifted to The Alfred hospital with critical injuries.
The driver escaped with minor injuries. The driver of the truck, also a Healesville man, was not injured.
Mr Boulton’s wife, Lisa, told the Mail yesterday (Monday) that her husband was in a stable condition but said it was too early to know the full implications of his injuries.
“What we do know is that he is on the road to recovery but it is going to be a fair time,” she said.
