MARYSVILLE is enjoying a fantastic snow season.
“We’ve had some really great ski days already,” Hugh Sullivan, director of the ski school at Lake Mountain said in the midst of the school holiday rush last week.
He said everyone from snow enthusiasts to local business operators were celebrating the snow falls.
“Lake Mountain is a key tourist destination and there is a definite knock-on effect on all the businesses in the area when you get good snow,” he said.
David Sebald, secretary of Marysville and District Chamber of Commerce, agreed.
“The turn-around from last year is dramatic,” he said.
“Everyone is very happy. It’s a nice bonus for the businesses that open year round and a great relief for the seasonal operators.”
With Lake Mountain under an hour’s drive from the Yarra Valley and offering first-class cross-country skiing and excellent snow play conditions, there’s no reason not to enjoy an afternoon, a day or a week experiencing Marysville’s winter wonderland.
You’ll find all the services you need for an unforgettable visit from ski and chain hire to accommodation, cafes, restaurants and specialty shops.
