THE 2007 Federal Election has been set for 24 November.
With the campaign now officially on, Yarra Valley residents will have an early opportunity to see three of the candidates in action tonight (Tuesday 16 October).
Liberal MP Fran Bailey and candidates Steve Meacher for The Greens, and Robert Mitchell for the ALP, will talk at the Yarra Valley Climate Change Candidate Forum presented by climate change group C4 Healesville.
Mark Wakeham from Greenpeace will also talk.
Candidates will have a cuppa and a chat with community members following the forum.
The forum is at Healesville High School at 7.30pm.
One day to enrol
AUSTRALIAN citizens, 18 years of age and over, who are not on the electoral roll have until 8pm, tomorrow (Wednesday, 17 October) to complete an enrolment form and return it to the Australian Electoral Commission.
Changes to address details must be completed by 8pm, Tuesday 23 October.
Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au and are available at Australia Post outlets, AEC, Medicare and Centrelink offices.
