Wildlife warning

MOTORISTS are being urged to watch out for wildlife on the roads over summer.
The warning is aimed at holiday-makers hitting the road over the school holiday period.
Dry conditions have forced animals to search for food near roads, according to the RACV and Zoos Victoria. Recent rains have replenished grass on roadsides making it particularly appealing.
RACV spokesman Peter Daly said colliding with a kangaroo could not only injure or kill the animal, but cause serious damage to the vehicle and leave its occupants stranded.
Motorists who hit or find injured wildlife on the road should contact RACV Wildlife Connect 24 hours a day on 13 11 11 for advice and to find the nearest wildlife rescue group.
