Cash boost for school

By MARA PATTISON-SOWDEN

LAUNCHING Place Primary School will receive more than $200,000 from the State Government to repair buildings that are in poor condition.
This afternoon assistant principal Debbie Hobbis showed Gembrook MP Brad Battin around the school’s 30-year-old main building which has not had maintenance funding for a decade.
Ms Hobbis said the school council had worked hard over the years to raise funds to patch up problem areas and she said the new funding funding would make a huge difference.
“We’ve been good at patching up but this will give us the money to make it a safer, nicer environment for the children,” she said.
The funding will go towards fixing broken skylights, major pipe works, toilets and repairing a variety of other problems.
