HEALESVILLE’S Greyhound Club’s heat times for Sunday have been brought forward due to predicted soaring weekend temperatures.
The Healesville Greyhound Club’s Healesville Cup heat meeting times for the Sunday 2 February event have been moved from noon to 10am to avoid a peak temperature which is expected to hit 40 degrees.
Visitors are asked to arrive for the heats about 9.45am for the first race, which will start at 10.05am.
Air-conditioned spaces are available to watch the races out of the sun.
While adults can enjoy the racing action, children have the opportunity to win a family holiday to the Gold Coast, with a colouring competition being run by Greyhound Racing Victoria.

Activities for kids include circus skills, races, bead-making and competitions, and kids will also receive a free meal at the event.
The heats will culminate in the 2014 Healesville Cup which is to be held on Sunday 9 February.
Visitors to the finals will have a chance to win cash prizes, with a special name-draw of eight people – their names will be associated with the greyhounds racing in the event, with money won for those associated with the winning greyhounds.
