Film deadline extended

THE closing date for entries in the Yarra Ranges Film Society’s Show Us Your Shorts student film competition has been extended.
“We have given a bit more time because of the school holidays and we have added two more prizes,” said YRFS president Dagmar Limp.
An additional $500 cash prize and trophy donated by the Natural Resources Conservation League, will go to the film depicting the environment or natural resources.
The maker of the film judged to be the best overall film of the competition will be the first person to receive the inaugural Golden Shorts Award, which also carries a $500 cash prize and the framed Golden Shorts.
This prize is donated by the Yarra Ranges Film Society Youth Initiative Fund, which was founded by the late Jan Cameron.
Ms Limp urged young filmmakers to get busy with final editing and send in their entry.
