Cinema declares war on ticket prices

Director and general manager of the Croydon Cinema’s four screen complex , George Aleksiunas says that his cinema has the cheapest ticket prices, not only in Victoria - but Australia too.

WHY spend $20 on a movie ticket when you can spend as little as $12?
There has been much fanfare about the major cinema chains making seeing a movie too expensive for families and individuals but a local independent is bucking the trend.
Croydon Cinemas is making going to the movies more affordable – snubbing their noses at ridiculous prices for tickets and confectionary.
Director and general manager of the Croydon Cinema’s four screen complex, George Aleksiunas says that his cinema has the cheapest ticket prices, not only in Victoria – but Australia too.
“Our top price for an adult is only $12 at peak times,” Mr Aleksiunas said.
“And on Sunday and Monday nights all tickets to all movies and sessions after 6pm are only $6.”
Mr Aleksiunas said candy bar prices were also much cheaper than the “big guys” with the most popular items such as choc tops, popcorn and soft drinks charged at realistic prices.
“Not only are our tickets and candy bar prices affordable, patrons can also enjoy the luxury of being able to consume alcohol in any of the cinemas and foyer areas without paying premium prices, making Croydon Cinemas on top of any movie goer’s bucket list,” he said.
While Croydon only has four screens it runs all major blockbusters, chic flicks, kids flicks, special events and art house films in the latest state-of-the-art digital projection and sound technology.
The cinema has recently undergone major renovations and is also about to launch weekly movie luncheons, Bollywood films and various movie meal deal packages with local restaurants.
“Why break the bank and pay exorbitant prices to see your movies when Croydon Cinemas offers the best movie prices in Melbourne, come and experience the difference,” he said.
