POLICE are appealing to the public for information about a window smashing spree in Yarra Junction last week.
Vandals smashed eight windows on five buildings along Yarra Junction’s main street between 11.30pm and midnight on Thursday, 20 October.
Senior Constable Kevin Bishop from Yarra Junction police said officers believe bricks and alcohol bottles found outside the shops were used to smash the windows.
“These are acts of senseless vandalism that cost local businesses time and money,” Senior Constable Bishop said.
Three windows of a pizza shop were smashed, along with one window on a fashion boutique and one window at the Uniting Church.
The vandals also smashed two glass doors at the entrance to the Yarra Junction Medical Centre and a window next to the front door of the Safeway arcade.
