State Budget’s $2 million for Junction Primary

By KATH GANNAWAY

LABOR has come through for Yarra Junction Primary School with $2 million allocated in the State Budget released Tuesday.
With both Liberal and Labor coming on board with election promises to fund the much-lobbied-for upgrade, the school had only to wait for this budget.
The office of Education Minister and Deputy Premier James Merlino confirmed to the Mail this afternoon that the total $2 million had been allocated in the budget.
School Council president Brian Westlake said it was great news, and that the school was keen to hear full details from Mr Merlino’s office.
“If we get the full amount, we can have picks and shovels going by August,” he said.
