Mini-Roos on their toes

By KATH GANNAWAY

THEY’RE only little, but for the Healesville Soccer Club’s Mini-Roos, there was loads of enthusiasm and some fancy moves at the first Mini Roos Gala Day.
Budding players from five to 10-year-olds took part in the event at the Don Road Sporting Complex on Saturday 13 June.
The players have been along to four training sessions, and while it was obvious they are serious about their soccer, program co-ordinator Klaus Gottwald said the emphasis was on having fun.
“It’s about them having fun and developing a love for the game,” he said.
“The emphasis at this level is on fun and enjoyment.”
The Healesville Soccer Club has four teams, and is looking to develop a women’s social team.
