THE proposal for a development at Healesville’s former sawmill site, at the entrance to town, has divided residents.
On one side, some have argued that the proposal will bring jobs, growth and economic benefits for the town.
On the other side, others have said the development is not suitable for the town, opens the door for fast food chains and is in the wrong place.
The development was green-lit by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal after being voted down by Yarra Ranges councillors in 2013, but it looks like the application will again come before council, potentially with dramatic changes.
Healesville cartoonist, Danny Zemp, has submitted his take on the proposal.
