RAIN washed out any hope of play on the first day of round five in the FTGDCA, with all junior and senior games called off.
The round will now become a one-day fixture for all junior and senior grades, with seniors playing 45-over matches starting at 12.45pm.
B1 and B2 grades will start at the normal time, 1pm.
After four rounds, Ferntree Gully remains the only undefeated team in the Knox Tavern Cup, in what is an even competition, with last year’s grand finalists, Monbulk and Rowville, placed eighth and ninth, respectively.
In representative cricket, Eildon Park brothers Cameron and Shane Cosstick, together with Johnson Park’s Bryn Gaunt and Peter Dunlop, will play in the final trial match at Nagambie for the Victorian Country team to play in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, in January.
Meanwhile, a Melba veterans’ team consisting of players from the Yarra Valley and FTGDCA will host a veterans’ team from Malaysia’s Royal Selangor Club at Bayswater No. 2 oval on Friday 19 December, starting at 1.30pm.
