FAMILIES and fitness fanatics alike are expected to take part in the Shire of Yarra Ranges Hike and Bike the Rail Trail on Sunday, 20 November.
The event, a warm-up for next year’s Commonwealth Games, is a chance for Yarra Ranges residents to get involved by walking, running, or riding the Lilydale/Warburton Rail Trail. It is not a race and there are no rules about how little, or how much of the trail individual participants cover on the day. Local groups will provide activities at each of the old railway stations along the way and every participant will receive a free souvenir of the event.
