The weekend saw the last game in Round 11 for Division 1 being played and Round 12 for Division 2.
The Under 18s had a weekend off and more shuffling of the ladders occurred because of the weekend’s results.
After 11 Rounds in Division 1, Olinda and Wandin share top spot with Healesville just two points behind in third, Woori Yallock in fourth and Upwey 10 points behind in fifth.
Second Division has seen some big moves with Seville and Belgrave fighting it out for top spot this week, Powelltown is clear by one win in third, Yarra Glen finds itself in fourth and only one game ahead of fifth-placed Alexandra.
The Under 18s are playing for positions in the top eight, while Emerald and Mt Evelyn look like they have a stronghold on positions one and two.
Wandin sits third with Healesville in fourth, while Upwey is clear in fifth and Warburton, Woori Yallock and Gembrook make up the rest of the eight.
Division 1 Netball: Olinda is comfortably sitting on top with Wandin six points behind in second place. Woori Yallock is hot on their heels in third, with Monbulk and Warburton sharing fourth spot.
Belgrave is still undefeated on top in Division 2 with Yarra Glen in second spot. Yarra Junction is just behind in third with Powelltown and Yea making up the five.
Division 1 Seniors Football
Olinda Ferny Creek 11.9.75 d Upwey Tecoma 4.19.43
Olinda still sits on top of the ladder after their win on Saturday while Upwey are in fifth position only one game clear of the sixth-placed Mt Evelyn.
Olinda got away to a good start kicking 4.3 and keeping Upwey to only four behinds. Upwey fought back in the second quarter kicking 4.3 to 2.2, meaning that the margin was only 10 points at half-time.
The second half was all Olinda’s as it kicked 5.4 to Upwey’s 13 behinds. Dan Waters ended up with 3.7 for the day and things would have been completely different if accuracy was the name of the game.

Kinglake 9.17.71 d Thornton Eildon 5.4.34
Kinglake is sitting sixth on the ladder just one win behind Alexandra which is now in fifth.
Kinglake got off to a slow start kicking 2.4 but held Thornton Eildon scoreless in the first quarter.
The team was inaccurate in the second term kicking 3.4 to Thornton’s two straight but the lead was 26 points at half-time.
Thornton could only manage one behind in the third quarter to Kinglake’s 2.3, extending the lead to 40 points, and the game was sealed. To Thornton’s credit it outscored Kinglake in the last and reduced the final margin to 36 points.

Powelltown 12.10.82 d Yea 10.8.68
Powelltown has jumped into third position and are six points clear of Yarra Glen in fourth position after a close battle with Yea.
Yea got the early break kicking 3.2 to 1.5 in the first term and had the lead by nine points.
The second quarter was tight with both teams kicking three goals but the game was still in Yea’s favour at half-time.
Powelltown fought back in the third term outscoring Yea by one goal, reducing the margin to only five points at three-quarter time.
Yea could not maintain its pressure in the last and let Powelltown skip away with a four goal to one quarter and the win by 14 points.

Seville 18.15.123 d Yarra Glen 11.9.75
Seville held onto top spot of the ladder after a convincing win over Yarra Glen which has now dropped to fourth, one game out of the top three.
Yarra Glen got off to a good start kicking 4.6 to 3.2 and had a lead of 10 points at quarter-time.
It was an even second quarter with Seville outscoring Yarra Glen, kicking 4.4 to 4.1, the margin was only eight points. At this point it was anybody’s game.
Yarra Glen was caught napping in the third term and could not get the ball into their forward 50.
Seville piled on 6.2 to a solitary behind and the momentum was all in Seville’s favour as they went into the three-quarter time break with a 32-point lead.
Yarra Glen got a couple of early goals in the last quarter but Seville replied and ended up kicking 5.5 to 3.1 to come away with one of their best wins this season.

Alexandra 21.8.134 d Yarra Junction 14.9.93
Alexandra has jumped to fifth after a big win over Yarra Junction on Saturday. It was all even after the first quarter, tied at 16 points each.
Alexandra kicked away in the second term with an eight-goal quarter to take a lead of 22 points into the half-time break.
Yarra Junction came back in the third quarter kicking 6.2 to 4 straight to reduce the margin to 20 points at three-quarter time. Alexandra regrouped in the last and kicked away with five goals to Junction’s two and a handy 41-point win.

Olinda Ferny Creek 104 d Upwey Tecoma 27
Olinda is sitting on top of the ladder, six points clear of the second-placed Wandin after their win on Saturday.
Olinda got off to a flyer shooting 22 goals to 9, Peri Stewart already having 21 goals to her name.
Olinda maintained the pressure and shot another 23 goals to 4 and had a half time lead of 32 goals.
There was no letting up in the third term with an impressive 33-goal to 6 quarter, Peri Stewart shooting 28 of them. The last quarter was much the same as Upwey could not hold back the onslaught.

Seville lost on forfeit to Yarra Glen
Yarra Junction 45 d Alexandra 28
Yarra Junction is now sitting third on the ladder after their win against Alexandra on Saturday afternoon. Alexandra got the jump in the first term shooting 10 goals to 6 and took a slim lead going into the second quarter.
Yarra Junction outscored Alexandra in the second term by five goals and held a slim lead of one goal at half time.
The Eagles got their game into full swing in the third term and dominated shooting 16 goals to two and had the game in their keeping.
It was tight in the last but Alexandra could not claw back the deficit and went down by 17 goals in the end.

Kinglake 57 d Thornton Eildon 20
Kinglake is now sitting sixth on the ladder only two points outside the five after its win on Saturday. Kinglake got off to a solid start and a lead of seven goals at quarter time.
It tightened up in the second term with Thornton shooting six goals to nine and the lead was only 10 goals in Kinglake’s favour.
Kinglake hit its straps in the third quarter shooting 16 goals to 4 and they now had a winning lead at three-quarter time. Kinglake produced another very solid last quarter with 18 goals to three, and keep in touch with the top five.

Yea 38 d Powelltown 34
Yea has pulled off a closely fought win over Powelltown and sits fifth, only two points behind fourth placed Powelltown.
The first quarter was a tight battle with Yea shooting 10 goals to eight.
Yea got the jump on Powelltown in the second term, shooting 10 goals to four and went into half-time with an eight-goal lead.
Powelltown rallied in the third quarter and held Yea to 10 goals while it shot nine, but the lead was now nine goals.
Powelltown had not given up and played out of their skins in the last shooting 13 goals to eight but the charge was too late at the end going down by four goals.
