Talk spiced with multi-culture

Megan Wallens.

By Kath Gannaway

Megan Wallens is another Upper Yarra woman with an interesting story to tell.
She came to Warburton having had a varied career in nursing and clinical teaching, staff training and project management.
Married young, she moved with her husband to many parts of Australia and worked on international aid development projects in Fiji, PNG and Inner Mongolia, making a life in each of these places.
The story she will tell as part of the Women of Interest 2017 series at Yarra Junction Library on Saturday, 29 July, is informed by extensive travel, a deep interest in local cultures and their people and her creative post-retirement interests in gardening and writing.
Her short stories have been published, and have won several awards.
Having found a new home in Warburton, Megan became involved in local groups including the local Garden Club and friends of the Warburton Rail Trail.
Join Megan at 1.30pm for a tea or coffee before what promises to be an inspiring talk.
