THE final round of programmed series cricket for the 2008-09 season was completed on Saturday with the second day of round 13 being played in the D.J. Strachan Shield.
Wandin were chasing down Seville 131 from day one and also to consolidate a final four position.
They did this with ease, reaching 334 before being dismissed.
Woori Yallock with 9/436 cc on the board from day one (Andrew Sharp 114, Dallas Spencer 91 n.o., Kane Jones 5/103, Andrew Giblin 2/31 were determined to bowl against Mt Evelyn they did this to keep the home side to 8 for 279 cc – Andrew Giblin 60, Luke Jones 55, Andrew Sharp 4 for 58.
Silvan 217 Jason Lovell 59 Chris Reynolds 40 defeated Launching Place United all out for 180. Healesville with 320 on the scorebook from day one would need to bowl well to keep to below the score Yarra Junction went about the chase in a methodical manner and were short by only 23 runs being dismissed with five balls of play remaining with the score on 10 for 297 Daniel Rogers 3/79 Dan Edwards 2/39.

Warburton went into day two of their match against Coldstream seeking an outright win, Warburton 4/249 dec, Liam Barnard 61, Tim Mc Kail 62, Ben Hanson 45,
Mick Walker 45 not out, but Coldstream who had 172 on the board in their first innings held on and in their second innings and at stumps were 5 for 81.
