The Yarra Ranges has secured the tourism-boosting Ciao Yarra Valley Ciao event.
Monbulk MP James Merlino announced on 26 July that the State Government would support the event through its Regional Events fund.
Ciao Yarra Valley Ciao will showcase the region’s rich Italian heritage from 2 November to 3 December, and is expected to attract about 8950 attendees.
Yarra Ranges Tourism will co-ordinate the event.
Mr Merlino said it would “capitalise on the tourism strengths of the local region and enhance the liveability of the community.”
Applications for round five of the Regional Event Fund close on 24 September, with successful applicants to be announced in October.
