A Yarra Junction man will face court over an alleged kidnapping.
Yarra Ranges CIU detectives said he took another man from a house in Wantirna just after 12.30am on Thursday 23 August.
They said the man took the victim to a smash repairs factory in Lilydale, where he demanded a car that was under repair there.
The victim was not injured and fled the scene.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
They charged the Yarra Junction man with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, common law assault and committing an offence while on bail.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 August.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
