A 76-YEAR-OLD East Melbourne man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at Coldstream last week.
The collision happened at around 4pm on Maroondah Highway, just east of Domaine Chandon winery.
Police said the vehicle, a white Nissan station wagon was travelling towards Healesville when the car veered to the left, left the road and struck a tree.
The man, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.
Maroondah Highway was for two hours with motorists being diverted along Maddens Lane and through Yarra Glen, as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner and are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which brought the 2009 road toll to 106.
