Under 16: A great win in very heavy conditions. The forward line tried hard, while led by Tyler Black, Mitch Newton, Cale Wilde and Ryan Veitch, the fitness of the centre and backline players was tested. Jack Nugent, Jack Plunkett and James Norney had nothing left in the end.

Under 12: Gembrook came out strongly in the first half, when they put the majority of their score on the board. The boys fought hard back hard in the wet and muddy conditions to keep their opponents under control in the second half.

Under 11: An amazing four quarter goalscoring spree by the under 11s. The team play was superb for the entire game. A good effort by the Bloods.

Under 16: A five goal onslaught from the opposition saw them comfortably ahead at half time. A valiant effort in the second half saw Wesburn outscore them despite the mud, hail and rain.

Under 15: In very wet and slippery conditions, the boys started with great tackling, pressure and manning up. However, as the game wore on, Emerald slipped into top gear and got right on top.

Under 11: The team could not have given more, as spirit and determination were the keys to a much deserved win in cold wet conditions. Tough kids through and through.

Under 10: In wet, cold and extremely slippery conditions, the whole team put in a very determined and gritty performance. They worked well for each other and scored a well deserved win.

Under 16: In terrible conditions the youngsters showed courage, intensity and an attack on the footy not displayed in the last couple of weeks. Although losing narrowly, it was a pleasing and inspiring effort from everyone.

Under 14: In trying, wet conditions, Sth Belgrave adapted quicker, putting on a healthy score. To the team’s credit, they fought hard all game.

Under 12: A skilful and determined Sth Belgrave came out firing and had the boys right on the back foot and well behind at half time. Fortunately, the Yarra Glen lads turned it on, booting three goals in the third. It was just enough, as they fought it out for a one-point win.

Under 11: In real football conditions, the scores were fairly even after the first quarter. By the third quarter, in rain, hail and windy conditions, Yarra Glen had fought back, but Sth Belgrave went on to win.

Under 10: The game was the best one Yarra Glen has played and it showed how it can play as a team. Everybody was a stand out, giving 100 per cent and deserved the win.
