YARRA Glen put in a great four-quarter effort, showing little mercy to Thornton Eildon. Yarra Glen started in great style with 10 goals in the first quarter while Thornton booted five.
But a further seven goals by Yarra Glen in the second quarter to Thornton’s three meant the game was practically over with Yarra Glen leading by 55 points at half-time.
The second half was all Yarra Glen as it piled on another 15 goals and held Thornton to just two for the half.
Yarra Glen will finish on top of the ladder and look forward to a week’s break come round one of finals. Thornton’s finals aspirations now look shaky.

Best – Yarra Glen: Mark Attard (seven goals), Leigh Hoffman, Peter Moate. Thornton Eildon: Brendan Musgrove, David Cornish, Rhys Chapman.
YARRA Junction is still eyeing off a double chance after its workmanlike win over Yea. Junction got out to a nine-point lead at the first break and extended that to four goals by the long break.
The second half was even with both teams booting seven goals but it was Junction that had control and probably should have won by more as it also notched up 10 behinds for the half.
Yarra Junction 15.16 (106) d Yea 11.6 (72)
Best – Yarra Junction: Brad Charman, Ben Price, Daniel Edwards. Yea: Cameron Grant, Thomas Bear, Patrick McKenna.
