ROCHFORD Winery launched their 2010/ 2011 summer season last Tuesday.
Announcing a six major event line-up for the A Day on the Green series, the season begins with the Simply Red Farewell concert on Saturday 9 October.
Simply Red was originally scheduled for 8 February 2009, but was cancelled in the wake of the Black Saturday tragedy.
With two shows already sold out, manager Graham Taylor and the team at Rochford expect a great season.
Major artists include John Farnham, in his only Victorian concert on Saturday 23 October, and Blondie and the Pretenders, scheduled for Saturday 4 December.
When asked about the other great acts audiences can look forward to, the Rochford team is keeping mum, only saying they expect to make two important announcements regarding artists within a week or two.
In conjunction with Rochford Winery, A Day on the Green is celebrating its 10th anniversary. With space for 7000 people, Rochford is the only venue in the Yarra Valley which draws in Australian and international acts.
Other scheduled events include the Cuban Jazz festival on Sunday 24 October, Cars of the World, Just Cycle and an Australia Day barbeque.
The Cars of the World show will feature the Alfa Romeo ‘ 100 years, Bugatti, Ford Falcon ‘ 50 years Down Under and Mazda MX-5 ‘ 21 birthday, and Just Cycle.
With Rochford’s new release wines on sale, the valley is set to enjoy a great season of food, wine and music.
