The Healesville Fire brigade responded to an illegal burn off on 28 March, despite the fire danger period being currently active.
Even the there is currently cool weather and rainy conditions, the declared fire danger period is still in force and burning off is prohibited.
The Fire Danger Period is when CFA restricts the use of fire in the community.
This is to help prevent fires from starting.
The Fire Danger Period is NOT the same thing as a Total Fire Ban.
Restrictions are in force until the 1st May 2023
