Patrons can kick up their heels at a new over 30s nightclub in Healesville.
TWO Healesville businesswomen are behind a new Healesville nightclub aimed at revving up the local entertainment scene for people in and over their 30s.
At the end of the working week, like a lot of their contemporaries, Pauline Hansford and Karen Valle like to kick up their heels a bit.
“We came up with the idea of a nightclub for over 30s because there really is nothing in the town that entertains that older group of singles and couples,” Pauline said.
Des Harrington, of the Grand Hotel, got behind the idea and Healesville’s only nightclub, The Over-30s Valley Night Club, is now a regular and popular event on the Grand’s live music and dance program.
“It’s a great place for people to come to dance and enjoy the fabulous music covers from the 70s through to the 90s. It’s really fantastic on a Friday night to have somewhere to go to have a dance and a bit of fun,” Pauline said.
She said feedback has been excellent, with many of the locals pleased to have somewhere to go on a Friday night, and visitors from down the line enjoying the friendly atmosphere.
The next The Over-30s Valley Night Club is on Friday, 24 February. Doors open at 8pm with the band Out Cold belting out the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s between 9.30pm to 1am. Supper is included in the entry fee.
