THE Lilydale Show hit a record high this year with more than 20,000 people ready for a weekend of fun.
There was something for everyone at the 57th Lilydale Agricultural and Horticultural annual spring show, with rides, animals, and the arts all winners in their own right.
Lilydale Agricultural and Horticultural Society secretary Jodie Nagel said they had a great turnout, with Saturday night’s live music and fireworks a big winner.
Ms Nagel said the Melba Park area was popular with families, where children could play in the animal nursery, have a go at soccer and badminton, and show firefighters how to “get down low and go, go, go”.
“There were also fantastic entries in the photography, arts, needlework, and crafts pavilion, with high standards there,” she said.
Ms Nagel said some of the top competitions were the wood chopping and horses.
“The horses bring a lot of people,” she said.
“We’re going to have to be bigger and better again next year.”
