Super games for charity

BAYSWATER cricket ground will play host to Super 8s cricket for charity on Australia Day.
Teams from the Yarra Valley Cricket Association (YVCA) and Ferntree Gully District Cricket Association (FTGDCA) will compete against teams from Ringwood, Prahran and Dandenong.
Yarra Glen and Seville will represent the YVCA, while Johnson Park and Upwey will play for the FTGDCA. Sub-district side Bayswater will also play, as will Dandenong’s Buckley Ridges.
Two divisions of four teams will contest matches, with preliminary finals, semi finals, and a grand final to decide the winner.
Play is scheduled to begin at 9am with the grand final starting around 5pm.
Funds raised will go to the charity A Heart for Kids Australia and the Sri Lankan Foundation for Goodness.
The day will be sponsored by the Knox Tavern.
Local Rotary clubs will hold a sausage sizzle and local businesses and parliamentarians will show their support.
