Boy hurt by toppling TV

A THREE-year-old boy from Millgrove was injured after a television fell on him last Wednesday.
Healesville paramedic Stuart Upjohn said the boy’s mother heard a crash and when she went into the room to investigate she found her son pinned underneath the television.
‘It was a large, older-style TV so it had the potential to cause significant injury,” Mr Upjohn said.
“We were told that it had been sitting on top of a chest of drawers and somehow it’s fallen down on top of the boy.
‘He had an injured left legand some grazing to his head. We suspected that his upper leg was actually broken and he wasin some pain so we gave him pain relief drugs via a nasalspray.”
The boy was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
“This boy was incredibly lucky that the television didn’t inflict more serious injuries,” Mr Upjohn said.
