Fun for firefighting funds

QUILTERS and stitchers can head to Warratina Lavender Farm for a Patchwork Quilt Exhibition until 22 May.
The exhibition features more than 100 quilts in differing sizes, patterns and colours, and is one of the major fund-raisers for the Wandin CFA.
Afterwards visitors can also enjoy afternoon tea in the tearooms.
Farm owner Annemarie Manders said her interest in quilting, embroidery and raising money for charity was the influence for the annual exhibition.
Now in its sixth year, the event is sponsored by Catharina’s Country Collection in Wandin North and Stitch’n’Patch in Lilydale.
The exhibition has already started and will run untilSunday 22 May from 10am to 4pm at Warratina Lavender Farm at 105 Quayle Road, Wandin Yallock.
Entry is $5 per adult with free entry for children under 12 Entry is $4 for concession card holders.
Wandin CFA captain Peter Polovinka said the annual exhibition donation provided a big help to the CFA, which was able to upgrade and buy new gear for its volunteers.
