AFTER months of anticipation, students at Wandin North Primary School have finally opened their new building.
Prep and Grade 1 classes were excited to move in to their spacious new classrooms, just in time for the school open day in May.
The $800,000 building has three open classrooms and a library complex, each classroom with its own external entrance with a verandah and drinking taps.
Leading teacher Karen Donald said that, like many of the State Government funded BER projects, theirs had delays.
But now it had been completed, the building was functioning as it should.
“The preps, Grade 1s, and the library have all been relocated to the new building,” she said.
“Everyone was happy to have it open and move in. The preps have been shuffled around the last few years so they are happy to have a permanent room.”
Parents and community visitors all commented favourably about the modern learning spaces built for the children, and the school welcomes visitors to tour the new facilities.
