Not a chance for Wandin

SENIORS
Gembrook Cockatoo v Wandin
Gembrook Cockatoo played a fantastic game, spurred on by the prospect of making the finals.
The side was focused and prepared to take risks, grabbed the lead early and, despite being wayward on goal, never gave Wandin a chance.
Healesville v Monbulk
Healesville came out firing against the more-fancied Monbulk and never looked like backing down from the challenge.
The side did everything right and was unlucky not to win. The final quarter was a thriller.
Warburton Millgrove v Woori Yallock
The game was close, but Warburton Millgrove could never grab the lead.
Woori Yallock seemed to know exactly where the home side’s weak points were. Warby was inaccurate on goal, kicking 11.12 for the match.
Mount Evelyn v Olinda Ferny Creek
Mount Evelyn played an excellent game and led the higher-placed Olinda up until three-quarter time, when the Bloods edged six points ahead.
The last quarter was a battle of wills, with the two sides matching goal for goal.
Mount Evelyn was unlucky not to get the win.
Yarra Glen v Upwey Tecoma
Yarra Glen was unlucky not to walk away with the four points.
Scores were level after the first quarter, and Yarra Glen was switched on and up by five points at half time.
The second half was nail-biting, with Upwey Tecoma finally hitting the lead in the final quarter.

UNDER 18
Gembrook Cockatoo v Wandin
Wandin kept the home side goalless in the first quarter and seemed to be setting itself up for a huge win.
Gembrook produced a fantastic second quarter to take the lead, but let itself down with wayward kicking on goal in the third.
Healesville v Monbulk
Monbulk kept up with the home side well into the third quarter, when Healesville missed a few shots on goal.
But the Hawks could only manage one behind the last quarter to Healesville’s six goals.
Warburton Millgrove v Woori Yallock
Warburton Millgrove was switched on and raring to go from the first bounce. The side was prepared to take risks, and it really showed on the scoreboard.
But Woori Yallock broke through in the last term in with four goals, while keeping Warby to just two points.
Mount Evelyn v Olinda Ferny Creek
Olinda Ferny Creek put up a great fight for most of the game, but the Rovers were able to break the game open in the third term.
Olinda appeared to have run out of steam by the final quarter and Mount Evelyn raced ahead.
Yarra Glen v Upwey Tecoma
Yarra Glen kicked itself out of the game by half-time, with 1.12 on the scoreboard to Upwey’s 4.3.
Its inaccuracy meant the home side’s pressure and hard work amounted to nothing.

SENIORS
Belgrave v Emerald
Emerald produced a great win away from home with finals looming to further cement its spot high up on the ladder.
Belgrave came back just before half-time, but lost its momentum there. Emerald produced a four-goal to nothing third term, and held Belgrave to just one goal in the fourth.
Powelltown v Yea
Powelltown’s last few games had been great, and this one was no exception – the players were prepared to take risks, back each other up and play as a team.
Yea kicked two goals in the opening term but was kept goal-less in the second and third quarters.
Seville v Alexandra
Seville managed to reclaim its position on top of the ladder on percentage.
Its 11 goal to one first quarter set the side up for something big. Alexandra didn’t seem prepared for the goal onslaught.
Yarra Junction v Kinglake
After an even first quarter, things started to go Yarra Junction’s way and Kinglake couldn’t keep up.
Kinglake’s Andrew Bott kicked a massive 11 goals but it still wasn’t enough to get his side over the line.

UNDER 18
Belgrave v Emerald
After a close first quarter, Emerald kicked nine goals to two in the second to create an eight-goal lead that Belgrave couldn’t come back from.
Emerald was ruthless in the last quarter, keeping the home side goal-less and kicking another six goals to bring to the final margin to 109 points.
Powelltown v Yea
Yea played a strong and exciting brand of footy to enjoy a great win and cement its high ladder position.
Andrew Martin kicked a fantastic 11 goals to help his team secure the win. Yea will be a force to be reckoned with come September.
Seville v Alexandra
Seville started the match off slowly and gave the visiting team an early lead, but never looked like backing down from the challenge.
The side was highly inaccurate on goal, but also able to shut down Alex’s run and carry to stay in the game.
Seville hit the lead by three quarter time and kept Alex goal-less in the final term.
Yarra Junction v Kinglake
Kinglake won by forfeit.
