YARRA Valley boutiques and artists will take to the catwalk in October as part of the RACV Healesville Country Club’s Spring/Summer Fashion Show.
The fashion show is a rare opportunity to see the very best of innovative and stylish spring and summer fashion, including the work of a number of local designers, in a forum which offers great entertainment, food and wine.
Healesville businesses taking part are Black Cat Boutique, KG on Maroondah, 9 Lives Project and Bridget Jones Underwear. Mathieu Salem Design from Prahran will also take part. Local artists Gayle Burgess, Gayanne Hutt, Tim Peel and Tess Birchall will also be exhibiting their work which includes jewellery, millinery and felting.
A highlight will be designs from winner of the 9 Lives Project run by Black Cat Boutique, Ellie Rhodes.
Ms Rhodes, under the label Elu Designs, has been commissioned by Black Cat to put together a range each season re-using textiles which have been re-claimed from previous season stock.
Black Cat’s owner Jacinta Birchall said the entire Elu Design winter collection sold out and there is great anticipation for the new spring designs. Ms Birchall said tickets sell fast for the event.
“Guests can expect to see a lot of racewear, definitely spring special occasion wear, but also lots of spring and summer casual wear, along with all the other fabulous pieces from the artists,” she said.
“It is a fabulous night with lots of beautiful food and wine, great goodie bags… just a wonderful night of fashion.”
The Spring/Summer Fashion Show will be held in the ballroom at the RACV Healesville Country Club on Saturday 15 October.
